Welcome to my blog, a place for me to provide information, ideas and inspiration and a place, hopefully, for us to engage in discussion about all things architecture.
Let me tell you a bit about myself.
I set up my practice, John McCart Architect, in 2009, having worked for a series of excellent architectural practices on award-winning projects in the Arts, Residential, Hotel and Leisure, Education and Commercial sectors. 2009 was the year when I realised I wanted to bring to bear my skills to solve my own clients problems and lead my own team.
I have always seen architectural design as an iterative and collaborative process, combining historical and contemporary study, artistic endeavour, holistic working and the consideration of current and future sustainability needs to produce quality schemes that are rigorous, legible and uplifting.
My practice provides solutions in the architectural, interior design and master planning spheres and I often employ ‘urban dentistry’ skills when coming up with solutions for our clients.
I hope you find the blog interesting and look forward to reading your comments.
